Ava's art is unique and instantly recognizable. Her natural artistic talent progressed after earning a split major in painting/drawing, and a minor in creative writing from William Carey College in Biloxi Mississippi. Ava has been offering her portraits, inspirational expressions and hand painted works on a variety of supports (canvas, wood, paper and glass) in the City Market since 2003. She is perminently located in building A, space 23. Her artwork is held in collections all over the world.
This style of basket was originally made to winnow rice on local plantations. Today, sweetgrass baskets are works of art and highly sought after souvenirs.
