Story by Market Editor
November 26, 2024
On the evening of December 7th, celebrating our annual Tree Lighting, beginning at 630 pm, the first 50 people who donate a new, unwrapped toy, gift, or a book to Toys for Tots, will receive a free hot cocoa & cookie.
At Christmas, Toys for Tots Coordinators, with the assistance of local social welfare agencies, church groups, and other local community agencies, distribute the toys to the less fortunate children of the community. Over the years, Marines have established close working relationships with social welfare agencies, churches and other local community agencies which are well qualified to identify the needy children in the community and play important roles in the distribution of the toys.
Collection dates at the Charleston City Market:
December 1 – December 15th
Your Donation Goes Directly to Providing Toys, Books and Gifts to Less Fortunate Children.
During the Holiday Season, we will have 4 drop – off boxes spread throughout the Market.
This year, residents will be able to use their mobile devices as their parking voucher. Find the voucher here.
